Producing Antibodies in a TC Bovine™
Tc Bovine Technology (TM)Genetically altered cattle, or TC Bovine, make polyclonal antibodies the same way that normal cattle and people make antibodies. Polyclonal antibodies have a strong reaction against a specific disease agent and can be made by immunizing (injecting a vaccine) a TC Bovine with the disease agent. For example, in humans a vaccine against a flu virus contains weakened flu virus (the virus is weakened so it doesn't cause the disease). When the weakened flu virus is injected into a person it induces a reaction that results in the production of antibodies that are more effective at eliminating the flu virus. The next time the person is exposed to flu virus the new, more effective antibodies will be ready to eliminate the virus before it can cause the disease. Hematech collects antibodies from TC Bovines after repeated immunizations and uses these antibodies for treating disease in people.

Vaccination against a particular disease promotes the formation of antibodies specifically designed to combat that disease.
