Hematech, Inc., a subsidiary of Kyowa Hakko Kirin, has developed the world's first large animal platform technology to produce fully human antibodies using the latest advances in gene engineering and transfer to produce new biopharmaceuticals that help fight disease.
The company, headquartered in Sioux Falls, South Dakota has developed a line of cattle that produce fully human antibodies. Hematech's patented process involves inserting human genes for antibody production into cattle and inactivating the native antibody genes.
